Communication about personal boundaries has become one of the most important issues of our time. We have learned of the epidemic of boundary violations through the widespread response to the #metoo movement. Unhealed boundary violations can lead to PTSD, depression, anxiety, addictions, and patterns of chronic unhappiness in relationships. Helping clients develop stronger, healthy boundaries may be one of the most valuable roles of a psychotherapist currently. It includes working with clients to resolve emotional pain from the past and to learn to communicate more clearly, strongly and directly about their needs in relationships going forward. Clear communication about boundaries - what we want and need or don't want or need - is a foundation for satisfaction in all types of relationships. This workshop provides an introduction to modern Bioenergetic Analysis with its body based approach to the issue of personal boundaries, including an overview of the theory, practice and techniques of Bioenergetic Therapy for mental health professionals. Individuals interested in learning about this approach to boundaries are welcome to attend as well.
