Bioenergetics is a body-oriented psychotherapy which utilizes simple exercises and breathing techniques, aimed at allowing a more natural, spontaneous way of being. Participants often experience an enhanced capacity for self-acceptance and expression of emotions.

These expressive exercise classes focus on releasing physical and emotional stress and tension, increasing body awareness, and promoting vitality. The classes emphasize breathing, stretching, grounding, vocalizing, and expressive gestures.

lowen quote

Bioenergetics is a way of understanding personality in terms of the body and its energetic processes. Bioenergetic Analysis is a form of therapy that combines work with the body and the mind to help people resolve their emotional problems and realize more of their potential for pleasure and joy in living.

The Massachusetts Society for Bioenergetic Analysis, Inc. (MSBA), is a professional organization whose primary mission is to provide professional training in Bioenergetic Analysis, leading to certification as a Bioenergetic Therapist. MSBA also provides consultation, referrals to bionenergetic therapists, bioenergetic exercise classes to support individuals' ongoing work with their bodies, and workshops and seminars on topics relating to bioenergetics.
